Introduction:

Xinjiang Medical University (XMU)is a university in Uramqii, the capital of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. It was ratified by the National Ministry of Education in 1998. 
Over 50,000 students have been educated at Xinjiang Medical University Covering the three subjects of Medicine, Management and Linguistics, the university has 25 specialties for undergraduate students and 17 specialties for academic education. It also recruits international students under the administration of the InternationalEducationCollege. As of 22nd July, 2009, the university, along with six others in the PeoplesRepublic of China, has been recognized by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council. It has already been recognized by Medical Council of India.
Xinjiang Medical University began to recruit overseas students in 1992. In 2001, we began to recruit undergraduate students abroad on a large-scale, most of who came from Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Japan, Korea, Sudan, and Kazakhstan. Approximately 150 students are admitted every year. At present, 800+ overseas students from 18 countries are studying for their bachelor’s, Master’s and doctorate degrees at Xinjiang Medical University.

The university provides in-campus hostel to the international students. the hostel building equips with electrical lift. Two persons share a room with air conditioner, attached bathroom, color TV, telephone, bed with required amenities and furniture, free hot---drinking---water heater, refrigerate, internet access, public laundry and kitchen, Students are required to pay the electricity and water they used.

City:

Urumqi is the capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the most 'inland' city in the world. With a population of two million gaily-dressed ethnic inhabitants.
The temperature in Urumqi widely ranges between day and night as it belongs to the semi-arid continental climate of middle temperate zone. The climate is extremely arid due to long period of sunlight and bare precipitation. It has shorter spring and autumn, and longer winter and summer.
  May to October is the golden season for traveling to Urumqi, when flowers are in full bloom and the fruits, like melons, are ripe with its fragrance. Here we should indicate that there are two hours time difference between Xinjiang and Beijing. The local working time is usually from 09:30 or 10:00. You had better not start your travel plan before 08:00 in the morning since it is still dark at that time
